Visa Overview

The Kazakhstan student visa process has two stages: first, the university applies to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on your behalf for an invitation letter. Once approved, you can apply for a C9 visa sticker at the Kazakh embassy or consulate in China with the required documents. After arrival, you must obtain a residence permit. The entire process takes approximately 15–20 business days.

Renewal Rules

Multiple-entry C9 visas are valid for more than 90 days; single-entry C9 visas are valid for no more than 90 days. Submit a renewal application through the International Cooperation Office at least 15 days before your visa expires. Each extension is granted for 1 years.

Student visas generally do not permit employment. For part-time work, a separate work permit must be obtained.

2How long is the visa valid for?

Multiple-entry C9 visas can be valid for more than 90 days. They are typically issued per academic year and require annual renewal.

3How far in advance do I need to renew?

Submit your visa renewal application through the university's International Office at least 15 days before your visa expires.

4Can I transfer?

Transferring schools requires reissuing the invitation letter and visa. Please proceed with caution.
